Catching up

Brian had his 12th birthday at the beginning of June. Jim took him and two friends to drive some little cars on a track and drive bumper boats. They had a really fun time and Brian got soaked under the waterfall you see in the photo.
The next day, he had 4 friends over for a Minecraft party. Minecraft is a computer game that a lot of boys like to play. We made some little foods that resemble things in the game.
Here he is with his cake. The character on the front is called a Creeper.
The boys made their own faces from the game and had some fun posing for a few pictures with their foam swords.

He got some money for his birthday and we got him a pogo stick. He's been loving jumping on it when he has the chance.

The weekend after his birthday, we had some visits from Grandparents. We went out to the Superstition Mountain area and went to a museum. Here are a few things the boys enjoyed from the outside of the museum.

Jacob held a stick-up and demanded the other two to give him all of their water. It was getting hot!
That Sunday, Brian was Ordained a Deacon at church. Our boys are growing up so fast!

In the middle of the month, Brian got to go to his first year of Boy Scout Camp. He was gone for 8 days and completed 3 merit badges. He had a great time and came home so dirty. I was scrubbing dirt off the back of his neck and his ears. It was a fun week for him though. The same week, Jacob went on a 4 day activity with his group of boys also. I didn't get any pictures of him leaving or coming home, but he got to go the Carlsbad Caverns, white sand dunes and camped.
Last week, Jim and I went with the boys to see the Phoenix Temple. It is coming along nicely now. Moroni was put up a few weeks ago and it's looking really good. It's been 5 years since it was first announced, so it has taken quite a while to get this far. It looks beautiful though.
