Inflating the balloon.
They blow up the balloon most of the way with fans before adding the heat.
Nice flame, eh?
The balloon was almost ready to stand up and for us to climb in. Hot, hot, hot!
This is looking back just after lifting off, so we were still close to the
ground. There are seven balloons over there getting ready.
Here is our shadow that proves that we were a bit up in the air.
This is really as high as we got. We flew over this hill here and had to
land on the other side a bit further out in the desert.
After landing, Jim and I went for a walk on the desert while
we waited for the van and trailer to find us where we landed.
Here are some other balloons behind us. As you can see, some of them
had the same problem as us and just couldn't get up high enough.
This is after we landed. You can see the basket on it's side by the bush and the
balloon on the ground in front of us. Like the other pictures before
inflating the balloon, it has to lie on it's side for the last few people to get out too.
This is pretty much the ending to our very short adventure,
a picture in front of the basket before they put it back onto the trailer.
